Joe Judd- 2007
First Classman Joe Judd serves a Secretary of his
class. Joe is currently bicycling from Pennsylvania
to Key West, Florida to raise $2,000 for the Injured
Marine Semper Fi Fund, which provides financial assistance to Marines
injured during combat or training, or to other service member injured while
supporting Marine units.

Kyle Fries - 2006
Our son
Kyle(06)started working in July for Vane Brothers Companies headquartered
in Baltimore.
He is currently with the tug & barge division, and is sailing out of Philadelphia. He is
putting his engineer’s license to good use working a variety of
tugs. The primary
commodity they transport is bulk fuel oil. We're glad he doesn't smoke!! We
will keep you posted on his adventure

Ross Kanzleiter
– 2006
Ross attended the US Merchant Marine Academy 2001-2005. He graduated first in his class with a
Bachelor of Science degree in Marine Systems Engineering. While at Kings Point, Ross was an
engineering cadet on the “Delaware Bay” and traveled to Spain, Italy,
Turkey, Egypt, and Israel. Ross also worked on the “USS
Arctic” and traveled the entire Atlantic Ocean. Working on the “Reliance”,
Ross traveled to Hawaii, Guam,
Taiwan, and Hong Kong.
After graduation Ross attended Johns Hopkins Whiting School of
Engineering. There he received a
Masters of Science degree in Environmental Process Engineering.
While finishing his Masters degree, Ross received numerous job offers
and chose to work for Seaworthy Systems, Inc., located in Essex, CT. There Ross is a Marine Environmental
Engineering Consultant.
Ross
presently resides in Westbrook,
CT.

Libby Palker
‘05* and Corydon Heard ‘04
Libby Palker got married on October 21, 2006 in Garfield Heights. Her
husband, Corydon Ford Heard IV is from Manassas, Virginia.
He is a 2004 graduate of the USMMA and is currently an active US Coast
Guard Lt (jg) stationed at the Port
of Baltimore working
for homeland security.
Libby completed a year working for OAK Management
in Washington, DC, as a marine systems engineer working
on a Navy Ship contract project. She started a new job in November.
The couple lives on base at Fort George Meade,
MD.

Lee
Mersek – 2005
Just a
little info on Lee Mersek, 2005 grad.
He graduated from Marine Office Training Camp in December 05. Combat training followed. He's Stationed in Pensacola, FL,
now and will begin flight training in @2 months. He said that his
training/education at Kings Point really prepared him well for the Marines.

Alumni Jon Kalmukas – 2005
Jon has been working for Norwegian Cruise Lines
on the Pride of Aloha as 3rd Assistant Engineer since
graduation. The Aloha is the oldest of three diesel-electric. U.S. flagged ships operating in the Hawaiian Islands. He is currently in the process of
obtaining a 2nd Assistant Engineers License. He plans to keep
shipping out with MEBA in the near future.
Jon’s brother, Nick is a 2003 graduate of
the Academy and is currently employed in Maritime Operations with Celebrity
Cruises, headquartered in Miami,
Florida.
